Issue #55 Date Added Status
Should the Department of Public Safety and Department of Transportation systems be tied together? Friday 09th May 2008 01:04:51 AM Open

Description Posted by
When I moved I changed my address on my driver’s license and just figured that my vehicle registration would have changed as well. This is incorrect. I had performed a California Roll or didn’t make a complete stop when turning right on red and a video camera caught me supposedly running a red light. They ended up sending the ticket to my old address, which apparently the reliable United States Postal Service didn’t have my change of address ready. A few months down the road I received a mailing stating I missed a court date and hey you owe us the fine plus a late fee you would rather pay than fight over. My whole point to this poll is that I think the Department of Public Safety computer records keeping my driver’s license information should be the same data that my vehicle registration is with the Department of Transportation. Do you agree? jfreedman
