The
Constitution is the supreme law of the United States. It was
signed in 1787. The Constitution says that the United States
Government has the power to pass laws, collect taxes, print
money, and form an army.
The Preamble is the first part of the Constitution. It starts
with, "We the People . . . .". The Bill of Rights are the first
10 amendments (or changes) to the Constitution. It contains
rights that the government cannot take away.
